About Cafecito Surfhouse
The surfhouse is located in a prime location in Santa Teresa, on a quiet street in the centre of town. We are less than a 5 minute walk to the beach, so leave your flip flops at home, wax up, and walk down to a world class surfbreak where you will find waves everyday!
Rooms
There are three rooms in total at the house, and the rooms are a combination of dorms and private, depending on bookings. At full capacity the house will have 12 guests with two kitchen areas and two full bathrooms.
The Terreza/Cafe
Our terraza in the back of the house is where we gather between classes to relax, share time and surf stories, and sip on a cafecito which is always brewing or a fresh cold coconut which we always have in stock.
This is also where we gather for video analysis. There is a mini projector that guests can use for movies after hours.
Work Space
We are equipped with highspeed fibreoptic internet and offer a shared air conditioned workspace for remote working inside the house. We ask that guests respect the inside area and treat it as a calm and quiet zone for workers and for nappers.
Other Info
The house was renovated in 2023 and has a new water and drainage system as well as a WATER RESERVE tank, which means we always have water, even when the rest of the town does not.
The house is actually head coach Lenin's childhood family home. He remembers when his family arrived to Santa, there was nothing but a dirt floor and a couple of rooms that his parents, sisters and he shared. Over the years his father Julio made improvements to the house and his family moved a few minutes out of town to San Isidro. Today, the house is still home to Lenin and the community of international surfers he has met along his journey living in Costa Rica and Denmark.
