DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO JOIN?
Anyone can register for Cafecito Surf. The reason we ask for your general availability is because we work very hard to create groups of students who have the same level of surf. For example, if you know you would like to visit Costa Rica in March, we will take your inquiry and match it with other interested students at your level.
HOW DO I GET THERE?
There are several option for arriving to Santa Teresa from San Jose or Liberia Airport. Bus, Shuttle or Charter Flights are all available. We can help you coordinate the trip from the Airport, or wherever else you are coming from.
WHAT ABOUT ACCOMODATION?
With our team being made up of people who grew up in Santa Teresa, or who have resided there for several years, we have amazing connections with Airbnb Owners in town. Depending on group size and how far in advance the trip is booked, we will reserve a Surf Villa for the group. It will always be comfortable, close to the beach, and be stocked and set up with all of the necesities you need to have an amazing trip. This is also where we will host our Video Analysis, and where we will share in group lunches or dinners together.
WILL I HAVE FREE TIME?
Absolutely! Yes, it is true that from Monday - Friday, from early in the morning until Sunset, we will keep you busy with surfing, surf coaching, out of water training and stretching, and sharing together as a group. There will definitely be free moments in your day for rest or for exploring town. Your evening is your own and you can choose to spend it however you like! The arrival and departure day are mostly free. The last Saturday is also free, but we leave it up to the group if they would like our co-ordinator Chelsea to plan any special trips or excursions.
CAN I COME ALONE?
Of course! Part of what is special about Cafecito surf camp is the experience and bond you will create with your fellow camp members. The camp is fun, but it will also push you out of your comfort zone to achieve things you may not have thought you could! The friendships you will make will last a lifetime. We hope that you create friendships so strong, that we can even plan future coaching trips with you in Costa Rica, or internationally!
